August 1, 2019-Travel with Jesus

Yesterday evening was absolutely beautiful as I sat on my swing totally relaxed and content then I wondered if this would be a good time to travel with Jesus. As soon as the thought entered my mind I felt a few friends smile their agreement. So five of us spirits followed Jesus to a different planet. We didn’t use the sky tunnel this time but followed Jesus as he stepped off the earth into a new experience.

What an experience. At first we walked a path laid out between tall glass walls set into squares, like tall windows. Then the path began to twist and turn and seemed to grow smaller, squeezing us down until we had to step carefully and bend down to go further. It wasn’t our spiritual bodies that were being squeezed but our minds, an effect that reminded me of the time I stepped through a mandala and landed on another planet. This trip between glass walls seemed to last a long time but actually only a few seconds before we came to the end. This is where Jesus told us to follow one of the thousand threads.

We did this and stepped out into the most colorful landscape imaginable. Everything that surrounded us to be in constant motion. The movement was so mind boggling that I sent my eyes to the one thing that seemed steady, a huge white dome that sat to the left of where we stepped out. Even the dome seemed to be alive with movement because all the sparkling green trees and vivid blue sky repeatedly moved across and over the dome. I think the surface of the dome was made of mirrors. Still, the dome seemed to be the most visually normal item around because it reflected a blue sky and tiny sun running and blinking on and off over its circumference as if day was turning to night and vice versa.

I tried to focus but a million vivid colors seemed to blend in to each other and then separate again. Yet, even though the confusion, I detect a field of bright, moving flower shapes and tall trees with dancing leaves that reached to the sky, a sky that was a calming Robin egg blue.  With the flowers and trees and grass beneath our feet moving so quickly, I began to feel dizzy until finally stepped up to a large running stream of water. Even though the water current as moving swiftly over the land, it reflected the blue of the sky and seemed to behave like normal water, so my mind quieted slightly at the view.

Then Jesus explained to us where we were. He told us this planet was built by the manufactured people I’d met not too long ago on one of our travels. As he spoke, I remembered meeting those people who looked and acted very humanlike.

“This is a retreat for when the people chose to experience their real selves in total.” Jesus said, “As normal humans, you would need to speed up your mind a thousand times to see this planet as they do. Most of their lives are lived in slow motion to coincide with their human creator’s way of life. They created this planet specifically as a place of refuge.”

Jesus explained further that what looked like a tiny sun in the blue sky was actually a bit of plasma placed there to light their very small planet.

At his words, I wondered if we might be inside a Dyson sphere but Jesus didn’t say that.

Every time I looked away from the stream, I felt dizzy from too much color and such an abundance of moving life weaving and gyrating and changing shades of colors that it all seemed to be growing even as we watched.

Jesus explained this too. He said the leaves and plants were not the same we’d find on earth, but were using a speeded up photosynthesis.

At this point, I was ready to leave, but suddenly remembered how the manufactured or AI people seemed perfectly harmless and loving. It brought up a very important question.

I ask Jesus, “Many of us on earth think that creating an AI would be extremely dangerous. Does the presence these seemingly harmless, great engineers who can even create their own planet mean that we are wrong?

“No.” Jesus said, then he paused as if thinking before continuing, “Those AIs were made by a different kind of people. Humankind is still very primitive and therefore imperfect, so any life you try to create will reflect your flaws.”

I couldn’t argue with that. Just look at the state our world is in. I nodded goodbye to Jesus and the others and felt relieved to be back on the swing in my backyard surrounded by normal grass, trees, and our own Robin blue sky.

It seemed that when we left that planet, we left a lot of unanswered questions as well.  Jesus doesn’t chose to enlighten us as much as we’d like. Perhaps because our minds are too narrow to encompass the real truth. I remember once as Jesus and I stood together above earth watching it revolve in space, Jesus said, “I will show you what earth really looks like.”

And suddenly the whole earth was split and built up by so many levels of reality I couldn’t take it all in and had to blank my mind back into normal, our steady blue planet set on velvet amid a million stars. At the time Jesus smiled at me and agreed that his view of reality was too much for me. Later, I realized that it isn’t just earth that is multi-layered by unimaginable realities but the whole universe. Truly, it would take the mind of God to see and understand it all.

Now, as I write my memory of our travel, I speculate and shudder that maybe we have already created such a monster in our own far future, a monster so above our mundane thinking that it has stepped back in time to forever haunt and stunt our growth, hence the continual waves and invasion of evil spirits. Almost as if there truly is a battle going between the God who created life and the evil that would destroy that life.

Oh, well. I usually save this kind of speculation for my fiction writing. Maybe I am wrong. Maybe our only problem is that we still have a lot of growing up to do. I hope we grow up soon enough to halt climate change and stop the rise of dictators who seem bent on destroying the planet and us along with it.

I remember the movie, The Day the Earth Stood Still. I so much wish that a giant robot would land on earth and turn off all the guns or better yet, make them all disappear. Wouldn’t that be something? Imagine the peace that would descend all around the globe and the quietude that would seep into our minds. Ah, well. Nice dream.

Speaking of guns, Father Thomas got everyone’s attention in church Sunday. Just as he was finishing up the mass, he spoke about the latest mass shootings and said, “I could go out and buy a machine gun in just a few minutes.”

My mind suddenly filled with a vivid image of an 87 year old priest, wearing green vestments, walking through a shopping center, carrying a huge machine gun. A shocking ridiculous image that I am sure everyone in church shared for a moment. If only that image and our voice was loud enough to shout down the NRA, an organization that has bought off most of congress and is against any and all gun rules. I believe their secret purpose of flooding the nation with guns is to ensure that ‘undesirables’ kill each other off.

Sadly, too many young, black men think a gun builds their ego and fall into the NRA’s trap. Just the other day, some hot headed young man (it is usually a young man) carried a gun into Rouge Park, got angry and shot bullets at the person he was angry with. He missed and killed a mother of seven children. I watched the grandmother cry on the news and cried with her. I also saw her ten year old child holding the two month old, curly headed baby old baby. That tiny baby will never know a mother. I wanted to scream at the heartlessness and stupidity of it.

I called out to Jesus, “What can we do? What can we do?”

Jesus said, “The only real answer is love.”

Certainly, this is true, but love seems too gentle to effect what is happening in our world today. And yet, it is most of us who love, who live quiet lives, who do not take up arms, and who center on family and friends and who populate most of the nation. So why can’t we do more?

I don’t know. I do know that God’s angels are hard at work teaching love to any and all who will listen. As love is encouraged and treasured by more and more people, our world will continue to change for the better. It takes time to mature and learn the treasure of love. We still have a lot of growing up to do.

Aug 9, 2029-Traveling with Jesus

We walked off the earth for a short time this evening. I had requested to revisit the very tall person who we met a few years ago. I was very impressed by her and wanted to see her again. I tried to paint her once but failed. I want to try again. As I stood before her on this visit I told her this was my purpose in visiting. She was delighted and deliberately stood still so I could get a real good look and she suddenly changed the garment she was wearing to a soft purple with simple designs on the edges.

I looked at her face which resembled our own but with simpler features. Her lips were smaller and her eyes were quite large. Her arms and legs were still very thin as I remembered from before. Also the flowers around her still spun or twirled and a small patch of them lifted off like a flock of startled birds as I watched. Suddenly, she reached out and pulled one of the flowers down and held it out for me to look at.

It was like the umbel of Queen Ann’s Lace but with much larger flowers gathered around a center. It had lacy leaves just below but further down the stem, the leaves were flat and oval shaped. The bottom of the stem had two roots hanging down that looked like two legs. I suspect that they dig those roots into the ground wherever they land.

The tall trees behind the lady were spindly by earth standards but very tall. I asked if we could see where she lived. She said, “We live very simply.” then led us through a short path between the trees to a dome-like building. It seemed to be made of air and it wasn’t exactly a dome either. It consisted of huge airy blocks, some missing and some piled atop one another in the wrong places.  I got the impression that they could pack up their home and carry it to any place they wanted to set down. This actually makes sense because this planet has very low gravity by earth standards. Their life style must be very different from what we consider normal.

She told us that they spend much of their time studying other planets. When I asked if they used computers, telescopes or ships to further their studying. She smiled and said, “No, and explained that they viewed other planets much like we were doing this evening but they spent a lot more time in specific areas to study the life and fauna more deeply. I asked if she had visited earth and she said that she had and knows earth well. Her statement gave me a moment of embarrassment. We humans hardly ever think about the fact that there might invisible people visiting our planet and taking note of our stupid mix-ups, and crazies. Well, sometimes we do produce greatness.

As I walked up the mountain path this morning, I asked myself why I chose a mountain to meet with God and call other people to join in prayer. I think it is because even though the mountain is in my imagination, it still gives me the sensation of rising above the billions of minds spread over the earth, where the air is clean and pure, and where I might feel a greater reverence when I call to God.

God energy fills all people who hold a reverence for life. Our call upon the mountain only increases its power. As I stood with the other people who were meeting upon the mountain at this time, I watched many others climb up to join us, yet, with our high view of the round horizon of the earth, we could see millions of likeminded people spread all around the globe. Their love creates a net that covers the land and sea. As I looked up and God poured extra love energy into us, I felt empowered to light up the world. As all of us walked down the mountain, I could visualize and see the net. Each node glowed with extra energy from God. It was truly a beautiful sight and gives me much hope for the future.

With the future in mind, I and others walked between the nodes of light with the idea of spreading the energy out to more people. I also whispered to people “Don’t be afraid.” because I think fear causes many people to dislike other people who they don’t know. They only know them as a group and are surrounded by misinformation about people of different color or religion. Fear is very powerful. We are all afraid of something, but being afraid that other people different from yourself seems to be holding too many people back from loving others.

Few of us can truly love everyone like Jesus does. We are not that strong, but many of us deserve credit for trying, for pushing aside our misunderstandings and moving forward towards a more inclusive and caring population. It doesn’t take that much effort to think kind thoughts of others.

I remember once feeling very confused that any women would choose to wear a burka, a vail that covers the head and body. I thought it was something the women was forced to do until I learned that some women like to wear a burqa because it makes them feel enclosed and safe. This helped me understand the other tradition in a new light. We all have so much to learn.

The NYT has been running articles about what America owes to slavery. This morning it was about US system of economics, how “low level capitalism” began on the Planation. “In Order to Understand the Brutality of American Capitalism you need to Start on the Planation,” by Matthew Desmond, Aug 15, 2019. The articles are about subjects we all think we know enough about until you sink in deeper. Too often, sinking deeper hurts, but mostly because the brutality isn’t just in the past but carries on into our own time. This can make the articles most disheartening.

Everything I learn as I get older about the uneven economy we live under reminds me of that famous quote, “Man’s inhumanity to man makes countless thousands mourn,” a quote from Robert Burns. I ask, “When will it ever stop?” Will we ever grow out of our seeming need to become king of the hill and force others to suffer while we out climb them? One idea in the article really woke me up. It stated that some people, though very poor, thought themselves free just because they weren’t slaves. This is a sad definition of freedom. We have settled for crumbs on the floor, driven to beg like dogs by the overlords who hold all the wealth.

During meditation and sick at heart thinking of our inhumanity, I asked Jesus if we will ever outgrow the worst defects. For most of us it takes a long life to finally realize the value all people have but we live in a world that is forever half filled with unlearned babies. What chance do we have?

Yet, Jesus stood silent at my question. A moment later I realized why. His presence was my answer. The deep love Jesus has for us proves that we are or will become worthy of that love. We are treasured beyond all measure by God, a God who knows our flaws as well as our promise. This quieted my heart. If Jesus can suffer through our millions of inhuman decisions and acts of cruelty who am I to quiver and hide behind a timid wall. Besides, as Jesus’ continued silence pointed out, a good majority of people are meditating and maturing even now. The angels are encouraging all who are receptive how to live and love more. (How many times have I asked Jesus this very question? I can’t remember. No wonder he remains silent.)

Aug 22, 2019

It is becoming obvious to me that President Trump (or his soul) has made a pact with the devil, a pact like in the legends of Doctor Faustus, a story retold by Christopher Marlow, among many. Of even more of interest is the fact that many real, historical figures are assumed to have made such a pact, to their eventual ruin. Hitler comes easily to mind.

The reason I write about this now is because the President recently went on a rant stating that he intends to be President for eight to twelve more years and that he is the Chosen One.

It seems to me that his rant, in pushing to eliminate our democracy, is an attempt to disqualify himself as President, but it didn’t work. He is stuck in the groove laid out for him whether he likes it or not. So, now, caught up in the tangle of self-pride, and the grab for even more wealth and fame, he is fast sliding into a maw of hellish proportion.

Whether he will or won’t, this soul that has grabbed hold of him pushes for the further build-up of war machines, pitting nation against nation and people against people. If this continues, it can have only one outcome, World War III, a war from which only the devil will profit.

This is exactly the opposite of how Jesus Christ asked us to live. We were warned two thousand years ago that this might happen, and now that it is happening, it is up to us to put a stop to this horrible future and final destruction of people and nature. We must end this and we will because our God is a living God who not only gives life, growth and change but also faith, hope and courage. I expect our nation will experience an abrupt change for the better in the coming months.

Aug 27, 2019

I suddenly realized what is wrong with the world. Ha, no really, and also why Jesus can’t just fix it immediately. It is because of free will, 8 billion different minds each practicing their own free will, 8 billion of us all jumbled up, tangled into our own lives, too busy to give a lot of action or thought towards the wellbeing of everyone else.

This is what we are trying to change when we gather together upon the mountain top and soak up God energy to share. The extra energy God pours down into our souls is meant to spread a greater feeling of empathy between all of us. Tall order, I know. Certainly, a long term project that will never finish because the feeling of empathy is so fragile. I need to refresh my own empathy often.

Spreading empathy is not as hard as it seems at first thought because almost every one of us already loves someone, or has feelings for some other person. Most of us have empathy for a person with specific needs: perhaps a sick uncle or aunt, a friend in a wheel chair, a slow minded acquaintance, a co-worker with too much on her plate, or someone we know who tried to kill themselves. There are countless people with problems to sympathize with and most of us do sympathize with someone. So the energy from God is meant to increase that concern and spread it further to enclose more people in our personal net of sympathy.

Even though much of what we do seems to be illusion because it is only visible to those of us meditating, God makes the energy we share valid and powerful. Its goal is to open more minds to the needs of other people. To help us understand how we are all in this together and the solution needs to apply to all to make the world a better place.

This morning as I looked across the land at the millions of people carrying light from God, my heart fluttered with bliss. It looked like a net with thousands of lights had been thrown over the country. If each of us just spreads that light outward to the surrounding area, the light nodes will gradually fill in and get tighter. The wide net could someday become lacy tight from love.

Aug 30, 2019

I realized something during meditation about hope for the future. The future can be changed and Revelation is proof that it can change. I don’t recommend that anyone read Revelation because it is too confusing. I haven’t read it for about ten years, but the highlights still stick out in my mind: One third of the earth will burn, Rivers will turn red, a person can’t buy or sell without a number written on the forehead, a nation described as the commercial leader of the world will be nuked. Of course, it doesn’t say the word ‘nuked’ only that that nation will fall and that ships will be afraid to land.

What strikes me is that John, a man from the first century, could hardly take in all the wild and unexplainable sights that he was shown. He must have thought our modern world a land of horrors and the only way he could write about was to use symbols. Yet, for the most part, he was given warnings meant for us to read two thousand years later.

But that predicted future can be changed. Jesus and his angels have managed to change some of the reality John wrote about. The numbers to buy and sell are not stamped on our foreheads but instead carried on cards in our pockets, numerous fireman and volunteers work hard to put out the many fires caused by an overheated climate, millions of people are pushing back against the authoritarian leaders trying to take over the different nations. And the best change of all—Jesus told me he intended to prevent our nation from getting nuked. I felt such great relief at his words I did a painting titled God preventing the disaster. I have been worried about it happening for many years ever since the angels told me it was likely to happen on a “Perfect day in June.”

I think it is Jesus, his angels, and all of us who follow the great holy leaders who will flip the world back to sanity.  Most religions teach kindness to others and love. This means we have the means to change the future even more than it has changed already. If more and more of the people keep spreading a positive, loving outlook into the world, it has the potential to become better than we can imagine. It is a dark time in our nation, but I feel hopeful. We have the power to change the economy around to where government works for all the people, not just a few.

On the political front, I still favor Bernie Sanders. Although Elizabeth Warren and Pete Buttigieg have good ideas on how to fix our economy, as do all the democrat candidates. The more I check out the issues that Bernie talks about and compare him with the other candidates, the more I like what he has to say and feel the depth of change he talks about is what we truly need to make the best change. Plus I truly hope and pray that more democrats get elected into the Senate. We have seen how the Senate can stonewall the great fixes that this nation needs. We need to toss them out and change our economy so it works for all the people.

It is as Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs suggested: People need the basics before they can learn and grow and then begin to excel. Morals are hard to hold on to during severe hunger and want. We all read Maslow years ago but it doesn’t hurt to review such a simple and good idea and reinvent our economy so it will lift all boats.
