We are a conquered, overtaken people. The enemy (whom ever, always cowers inside people) is causing these changes in an attempt to destroy our nation. “Everything will change,” I was told, and it has.

A partial list: Double-speak on climate change, getting rid of Net Neutrality, selling land in protected Parks, changing the Census, limiting voting, gerrymandering, putting in conservative judges, cutting Medicaid, encouraging the rise of hate groups, pushing fake news, and damaging honest news agencies, telling the public lies, etc.

Our government is now using Orwellian double-speak about climate change and many other things. All this is probably because President Trump is being coerced by Russia and he in turn is forcing those who want to follow him to do as he says, or else. I feel sick to the core about the direction in which my nation is moving. Three more years of this and we will have even less freedom than the Russian people.

This president is putting people in places of power who are hell bent to undo the long standing idea that every American has value and worth. The GOP’s attempt to devalue the population now includes the census. They will put a line in there to frighten many Hispanic people from filling it out, and likewise many of the poor in the country. The census is how the government determines the amount of aid. The GOP have already put judges in the Supreme Court who will likely side with corporations instead of the people. With their ‘tax cuts’ they aim to give people who already have great wealth even more.  And wasn’t this in our church sermon the other Sunday?

Jesus said of the later times, “Those who have much will be given even more and those who have little, even that will be taken away.”

We are living that future now. If the GOP increases the debt to trillions more just to give tax breaks to the rich, then soon the government may need to replace the money by taking away from people on Social Security and Medicare. Powerful leaders have already attacked Medicaid and welfare. Even if democrats manage to get back in power, they will have a hard time repairing the damage the GOP has already put on us.

Even worse, truth has become a rare commodity. All the sites I have seen that try to explain and tell the truth on YouTube are getting bombarded with ‘thumb down’ numbers that are out of proportion to reality. In other words someone group is going around YouTube clicking thumbs down without even watching the programs such as Robert Reich’s Resistant Report, The Young Turks, The Humanist Report, Redacted Tonight, and other sites. The truth is being buried and lies brought to the surface. I worry how generations to follow will understand the reality of the world they will inherit.

At least most people who still believe in kindness and giving and concern for other people know where we stand during these trying times. Still, we need to fight back. Somehow, we need to flip this situation back towards compassion and love and concern for all Americans.  We may be a conquered people, but we don’t need to just sit still and wait for that final destruction.

I traveled with Jesus and other people this morning. It was a short trip to another planet. I feel that I have been falling behind in traveling with Jesus, but he says not. Once any of us learn how to communicate mind to mind and travel with Jesus, it is a talent we don’t easily lose. This makes me feel better. I know there are battles going on for hearts, minds and souls and sometimes I just want to check to make sure mine are in good condition.

Well, this morning I decided to invite a new person to join us. A young girl, thin and pretty, who is wheelchair bound. I told her to leave her chair behind and follow Jesus and the rest of us up the sky tunnel. She was hesitant at first, but then delighted to join us. I led her into the sky bridge and instructed her to put the palm of her hand on the wood and feel its pulse as we walked forward to the top. At the top we stood behind Jesus amid billows of curtain filled with star fields, then stepped off onto a new planet. First I thought of a color so we would perhaps know what we were stepping into. Jesus said this was proper because anything we can imagine already exists out in the universe. So I imagined yellow.

He smiled and we suddenly stood on a yellowish tinted field. The grass was a dull red- purple. It was the air that seemed a dull yellow. Nothing here was bright like beneath our own sun. Everything was dim as if bright colors had been filtered out.

We walked a ways through the knee tall grass that seemed more like weeds or like tall grass that had went to see already. Each slim branch spread out into a fan holding tiny seed pods. We came to a stream of darkish water. We could see the fish beneath the flowing water. They were large and red. We walked towards high mountains, not snow caped because they seemed too dark for that.

We came upon a camp of people. A human field scientist, his eyes were like someone from China, met us as we walked into the camp and call to the others to come out to meet us. They told us they were there to study the fauna and animals of the planet. So far the largest they had found was a rounded, whitish sloth like creature that ate the dark grass. They added that they had found numerous insects.

They wore shirts and pants and their skin seemed tanned and muted by the low sunlight. They told us that this was one of their first stops but they intended to move around to various sites on the planet. The young girl who came with us asked how they would do that. She didn’t see any vehicles. They told her the same way we came to visit. They would just pack up their few tents and equipment and carry them as they jumped to a different spot.

I look closer and didn’t see any large instruments to study with or shovels or anything else we would think normal.

“We try to never dig up the ground or disturb the fauna in any way.” The first man we met said. A women showed me a slim wire that she would use to insert into the ground where they wanted to learn more about an area. Their investigative methods are probably beyond our understanding.

They asked us when we were from and were delighted to learn earth of 2017. I got the idea that to them we were very primitive. They seemed amazed by our visit.

We left after a short time. My mind can only stay tuned in to another planet for a short while. I know there are other people who concentrate better so are able to stay longer. I said goodbye to the others and to the young girl as she sat back in her wheelchair. She liked traveling and agree to come with us on other trips. I decided that on each trip to another planet, I would invite a new person to join.
