I remember Jesus telling me, “I am not a scientist.” It threw me for a moment, but not for too long. Now I can imagine someone in the middle ages talking to Jesus and him saying, “I am not a magician.” Because the mind-set back then was to change matter into gold and do other kinds of magic. In the same way, eventually the ideas of science and fact will be moved over on the shelf to make room for a new set of phenomena we call truth.

Hard to imagine how ‘facts’ could be made useless or old fashioned, but it will happen. Our minds have amazing abilities that we have hardly tapped into. When we do, science will not be able to explain what our minds can do with mere fact. As Shakespeare said long ago, “There is more to heaven and earth than is dreamed of in your philosophy”. He was referring to ghosts, but like many others, I use it to prove every new idea under the sun. ha. Using the mind’s full or enhanced potential will probably not be as new as we think. There has always been a smattering of special abilities in every society, people we once burned as witches. We are more open today and most of us would welcome any special ability we find useful.

Everyone who drives down I-94 knows there is a serious garbage problem in Detroit. Stupid, because the fix is easy—Buy every household a garbage disposal or compost bin. And don’t tell me Detroit can’t afford it, not if they can pay some people $200.000 a year and $500 an hour for a lawyer. Surly they can use a little of this money to solve the perplexing problem of stink. If nothing else, it would be a good promotion uptick for the “City of Smell.” Maybe we need t-shirts to advertize the City of Smell to wake some politicians up.

If we all recycle and use compost bins it could put Detroit on the map as a solution city instead of a smelly one. Besides, garbage disposals have been around for 50+ years and compost bins for hundreds, if not thousands of years. There is no excuse for the garbage smell on I-94 or in whichever neighborhood unlucky enough to be downwind of the incinerator that day. We can solve the problem at the source instead of transporting the smell all over the city. Think of the honey pots of long ago transported on wagons pulled by horses. Surly, we can do better.

I went to a meeting about the Detroit incinerator the night before I wrote about smell in the city, so I was angry and upset because sometimes it is my neighborhood that is downwind of the garbage smell. I feel calmer today, but still, the stink around I-94 is a problem that needs to be solved and the only workable solution is I can see is for every household to take care of their own garbage. Each household could convert their own garbage into good soil. The project could begin as a small pilot program where the city gives each household a compost bin with instructions on how to use it.

I just bought a nice looking square compost bin to sit in the back yard for $109.00. I picked this design after reading the reviews at Home Depot. Surly, buying in large quantities would bring the price down. Twenty years ago, I used a corner of my yard to build compost, but haven’t did this for many years because those huge black bins are easy to fill and it was a long walk in the winter. My new compost bin will sit next to my porch. Hopefully instructions come with it. I will write here how well or not it works out.

Ideally, if this became a city wide solution, it would be best if it included a grinder, compost bin, and an easy way to bag the compost for transport. If a whole city started such a system, I am sure an enterprising person could invent a workable bin that would bag easily. I have looked but haven’t found a grinder for garbage. I don’t want to use my blender if for no other reason then I would see what I am blending. A mechanical grinder with oblique sides would be easy to manufacture, perhaps like the ice crusher I had once where I just turned the handle.

Regardless, stinky garbage should not be hauled around the city and the rich black soil that would result would make the change worth the effort. If compost was bagged from every household, the bags could be picked up and the compost used in non-food areas such as flower beds, lawns, or trees.

I realize that even now, some citizens throw trash on the side of the roads when no one is looking and with a new system they might throw garbage as well, but the majority of the people are civilized and can set an example for the rest. The city could offer a tax refund or buy the first bin for each household. Also, the city leaders could make it mandatory to get a bin or garbage disposal within two years. I like this idea so well I am going to push for it.

This morning, I met with friends upon the mountain peak to worship God and fill myself with God-energy. I stood with them and loved the feeling of the mighty wind whipping my hair and gown, I always wear a white gown with I am in spirit, with the deep blue sky overhead and the knee-high grass turning to gold.

I have been neglectful lately, and for my benefit, more people came to join with us in prayer this morning. Friends I hadn’t seen for a while came, a few children and angels joined us upon the mountain. I saw us from on high standing gathered together as if we were a flower, a chrysanthemum, petals spread out, each reaching for the sun. When we were filled with God-light, we stepped apart and went to our own countries to spread the gift we had received around the world. I think of it as feeding the soul or giving an extra dose of oxygen to those in the path of God’s golden love.

I came back to America to spread the light and begin to wonder if I am doing such a good job. I think the devil has been trying to grab hold of America for the last 30 years, as evidence look at the rise of power and wealth in a few at the  top and the belittling of every other class of people. To paraphrase Jesus, Those with much will get more, and those with less, even that will be taken away.

Yes, we need much prayer here in America. Yet, I believe that we will overcome this evil and we will do it with democracy. We people will ramp up our sense of self worth and manage, somehow, to use our system to its full capacity. Many people are taking note of what is happening and their voices will help put a stop to this severe inequality. A happy nation needs an equitable system.
